Join the brilliant Karen Wright (Great British Bake Off Contestant from series 9) live from Wakefield, UK who will teach you how to master her classic individual egg custard tarts and sharing Yorkshire curd tart, as week 4 of our 10-week Series 4 Bake Along.
This class takes place on Sunday 26th March 2023 at the following times:

Bake With A Legend Online Classes are an interactive experience, where we limit group sizes to around 25 to ensure an intimate online setting. Not only do you have your celebrity baker teaching you, but you also have one of our brilliant Bake With A Legend hosts who will ensure the smooth running of your experience ensuring everyone is enjoying themselves.
If you need any help at any point during the class, you’ll be encouraged to raise your hand and your baker will be virtually joining you in your own kitchen in no time to assist you!
You’ll bake along in tandem with Karen, learning many tips and tricks a long the way as you perfect all the skills required to make Karen's delicious Yorkshire tart classics. Karen will also be on hand to answer your questions, be those about baking or her experiences of being involved on such an iconic television show.
Tickets are priced at £35 for individuals and £50 for groups of two or more that will join from the same screen. Please note we can accept requests to move classes with two or more weeks notice prior to the class – any requests to do so, will incur a £5 administrative charge.
Once booked in, all guests will be emailed a full recipe and the zoom link required to join us for the class. Just in case you don’t spot it please check junk mail!

Butter knife

10cm (4 inch) fluted cutter
12-hole cupcake tin
Baking tray
Large measuring jug
Sieve Saucepan
20cm (8 inch) loose bottom flan tin (3cm or 1 ⅕inch deep)
Small fairy cake/cupcake cases
Ingredients:
For the curd tart pastry:
200g (1 ½ cups) plain flour (plus extra for rolling)
1 large beaten egg*
100g (7 tbsp) salted butter (chilled and diced)
Zest half a lemon
For the curd tart filling
250g (1 cup) full fat cottage cheese
50g (¼ cup) sugar
50g (~ ⅓ cup) currants* (or any dried fruit)
2 large beaten eggs*
40g (3 tbsp) melted butter
Pinch of nutmeg
Zest half lemon
For the custard tarts pastry:
200g (1 ½ cups) plain flour (plus extra for rolling)
50g (¼ cup) caster sugar
100g (7 tbsp) salted butter (chilled and diced)
1 tsp vanilla paste/extract
1 large beaten egg*
For the custard tarts filling:
2 large beaten eggs*
30g (2 ½ tbsp) caster sugar
½ tsp vanilla paste/extract
20g (1 ½ tbsp) butter
100ml (½ cup minus 1 tbsp) double/heavy cream
150ml (⅔ cup) whole milk
½ tsp nutmeg
*UK large eggs are Extra Large in US and Canada
